The Pulmonary Hypertension Association (PHA) is excited to welcome you back in-person on Capitol Hill for the 2023 Pulmonary Hypertension Professional Network (PHPN) Advocacy Day. Kick off Symposium by lifting up patient voices and educating Congress about the needs of the pulmonary hypertension (PH) community. Check-in opens at 11 a.m. and boxed lunches will be served starting at 11 a.m. as well. The mandatory training begins promptly at 11:30 a.m.No prior advocacy experience is needed. PHA will provide legislative training, lunch and transportation to and from Capitol Hill when you sign up for Advocacy Day.
Schedule your travel so you arrive before 11 a.m. to ensure that you can participate and not miss any crucial information.
Advocacy Training
1. Know Before You Go Virtual Packet (Required)A month before the event, all registrants will receive an email with a link to the virtual packet of advocacy materials to help prepare for the legislative meetings.

2. In-Person Training (Required)
The Advocacy Day schedule includes a comprehensive training that will be held at the event hotel. Training will include:
- What to expect on a legislative visit.
- Tips for a successful visit.
- PHA’s legislative priorities.
- What to ask for during your visits with members of Congress.
3. PHA Advocacy Day Orientation Webinar (Optional)
If you’d like a sneak peek before Sept. 28, there will be a PHA Advocacy Day orientation webinar at 2 p.m. EDT on Thursday, Sept. 7.

Advocacy Day is included in your PHPN Symposium registration at no additional cost, but you must still sign up to participate in Advocacy Day. To sign up, check the “Advocacy Day” box on the PHPN Symposium registration form, or email Randall at RandallM@PHAssociation.org to add Advocacy Day to your registration.Advocacy Day registration closes on Aug. 31 to allow time for PHA to schedule meetings with each advocate’s congressional office.
